Equal Dignity, Equal Protection, Equal Opportunity — No Exceptions.
Colorado is the home of Bayard Rustin’s spirit and Matthew Shepard’s memory. I will govern as if both men were watching — because the LGBTQ+ Coloradans they represent are our neighbors, our coworkers, our service members, our teachers, our kids, and our parents.
My commitments as Governor:
- Codify and defend marriage equality, transgender rights, and anti-discrimination protections at the state level, so no federal court ruling and no future administration in Washington can roll back the rights of LGBTQ+ Coloradans.
- Protect gender-affirming care for adults and, in consultation with families and medical professionals, for minors — and prosecute any attempt to criminalize physicians, parents, or patients for receiving lawful medical care in Colorado.
- Defend Colorado as a safe-haven state. No Colorado state agency, employee, or resource will be used to assist out-of-state investigations targeting families who came here for healthcare.
- End conversion therapy loopholes for minors and adults with disabilities, and fund mental-health alternatives that affirm rather than harm.
- Support LGBTQ+ youth in schools through anti-bullying enforcement, inclusive curriculum standards, and crisis resources — because suicide rates among LGBTQ+ youth are not a statistic, they are a moral emergency.
- Address the HIV/AIDS care gap, especially for Black and Latino men in Colorado, by expanding PrEP access, ending HIV criminalization statutes, and funding community-led prevention.
- Make Colorado workplaces safe by strengthening enforcement of CADA (Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act) and creating an LGBTQ+ Worker Rights Hotline within the Department of Labor and Employment.
- Appoint LGBTQ+ Coloradans to leadership across the executive branch, judiciary, and boards/commissions — visibility is policy.
You should not have to wonder, in 2026, whether your Governor will defend you. With me, you will never have to wonder.
